Privacy & Data Handling
5e Cognition is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all research participants, students, families, and educators. Data are handled with care, transparency, and respect, in alignment with recognized ethical research standards.
Participant Identification
All participants are assigned a unique participant code. Identifying information is stored separately from research and assessment data.
When online assessment platforms are used, participant codes, instead of names, are entered wherever possible.
Data Storage & Security
Assessment reports and research files are stored on a secure external hard drive. Sensitive reports are not stored on public cloud services.
Where standardized assessment platforms are required (for example, PARiConnect or Q-global), data are handled according to the privacy and security standards of those systems.
Use of Data
Data are used solely for the purposes outlined in consent documentation. Identifying information is not included in analysis, reporting, or dissemination.
Aggregated or anonymized findings may be shared for research, instructional design, or professional learning purposes.
Participant Rights
Participants may ask questions at any time and may withdraw from participation without penalty.
Questions about privacy or data handling can be directed through the Contact page.
