Academic Testing

Uncover patterns in learning, identify exact areas for growth, and build a precise roadmap for academic success.

What is Academic Testing?

Academic Testing goes beyond simply looking at report card grades. We utilize standardized Level-B assessments (formally recognized by schools, educators, and medical professionals) like the WIAT-4 (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test), FAM (Feifer Assessment of Mathematics), and CTOPP-2 (Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing) to deeply evaluate reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

This specialized testing is designed to uncover the fundamental *why* behind academic struggles. By pinpointing exactly where a student is excelling and where they are hitting roadblocks, we can determine whether the challenge stems from foundational skill deficits, processing differences, or other neurodivergent profiles (such as Specific Learning Disorders).

Standardized Tools

  • WIAT-4: Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (Core Profile)Measures academic achievement across reading, math, written language, and oral language.
  • FAM: Feifer Assessment of Mathematics (Targeted Add-on)Evaluates the neurodevelopmental processes underpinning math skills to identify specific dyscalculia subtypes.
  • CTOPP-2: Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (Targeted Add-on)Measures reading related phonological processing (awareness, memory, and rapid naming).

What to Expect

1

Initial Intake

A collaborative discussion to understand the current presenting concerns, gather educational history, and set specific testing goals.

2

Testing Sessions

Engaging, one on one sessions utilizing standardized academic assessments. Pacing is completely tailored to the learner's endurance and focus.

3

Reviewing Results

A comprehensive review of the findings in plain, accessible language. You will leave with a highly personalized strategy roadmap to construct an effective learning environment.

Who is this for?

Students from grades 1 through post secondary experiencing academic delays or discrepancies at home and school.

Time Commitment

1 to 1.5 hour intake for background information, 1 to 2 hours of testing time in person, and a 1 hour online meeting to go over the report.

What You'll Receive

A comprehensive written report detailing scores, interpretations, and practical accommodations.
