Cognitive & Executive Screening
Identify patterns contributing to struggles with focus, planning, and self-regulation to build a deep understanding of unique learning profiles.
What is Cognitive Screening?
Cognitive and Executive Function screening provides a window into *how* an individual processes information. It moves beyond what someone knows (academics) and focuses on the underlying mental processes that dictate how they learn, focus, and interact with the world.
Struggles with task initiation, losing items, emotional dysregulation, or inconsistent performance are rarely character flaws. They are closely tied to executive functioning differences. Our screening identifies these specific processing differences, providing vital data that informs learning support, accommodations, and a deeper sense of self-understanding.
Our Screening Process
Comprehensive Intake
Gathering developmental history, current observations, and understanding the distinct challenges faced at school, work, or home.

Targeted Evaluation
Using validated assessments tailored to investigate attention, memory, and executive skills within a supportive setting.
Time: 1 to 2 hours
Insights & Application
Translating clinical scores into an understandable profile, offering targeted strategies to bypass weaknesses and lean into cognitive strengths.

Available Assessments
Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function, Second Edition
Executive Function Screening
The BRIEF-2 uses parent, teacher, and self-report forms to build a more complete picture of how executive functioning is affecting daily life across settings. Information from all three forms is considered together to identify patterns in areas such as inhibition, emotional control, working memory, planning, organization, flexibility, and self-monitoring.
Your time commitment
- Online background meeting: 30 minutes
- Rating forms (Parent, Teacher, Self-report): approximately 30 minutes per form
- Online report debrief: 45 minutes

Test of Memory and Learning, Second Edition
Memory and Learning Assessment
The TOMAL-2 is a standardized assessment used to evaluate memory functioning in children, adolescents, and adults. It helps identify patterns in verbal memory, nonverbal memory, attention, concentration, and delayed recall, and can provide useful insight when there are concerns about learning, retention, or memory-related difficulties.

Autism Spectrum Rating Scales
Autism-Related Behavioral Screening
The ASRS uses parent and teacher rating forms to assess behaviours associated with autism spectrum profiles in children and adolescents. It helps identify patterns in social communication, sensory sensitivity, behavioural rigidity, self-regulation, and related areas that may support planning, intervention, or a broader assessment process.
Your time commitment
- Online background meeting: 30 minutes
- Rating forms (Parent, Teacher): 15 to 20 minutes per form
- Online report debrief: 45 minutes

Understanding Scope and Use of Results
These are standardized Level B assessments, which are restricted tools used by qualified professionals with training in ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation. They provide meaningful information about a student's academic performance and learning profile, and they can be an important part of a broader assessment process.
Please note
I do not provide medical or psychological diagnoses. However, the results can offer clear, useful information for families, teachers, tutors, and school teams, and may also support follow-up with psychologists or other qualified practitioners when a diagnostic opinion is needed. Families receive a clear, actionable report with practical recommendations that can be used to guide supports, accommodations, and next steps at home and at school.
